Interessant, abwechslungsreiches Portfolio des englischen Fotografen Holger Pooten. Was er sich wohl bei dem Foto, von dem Typ der in die Plastiktüte pinkelt, gedacht hat?!

Richard Howe hat sie fotografiert. Die Strassenecken von Manhattan. Nicht nur ein paar davon, nein er hat alle 11000 abgelichtet. Einen kleinen Auschnitt davon zeigt er auf seiner Website und vermittelt so ein Bild von der Vielfalt und Einzigartigkeit New Yorks.

What you might first notice from flipping through these galleries is how comfortingly pedestrian the streets of New York really look: here are old women shopping, bunches of teenagers coming home from school, block after block of undistinguished buildings. There is little Times Square razzle-dazzle in evidence, this is a city of people going about daily life. But then you come across a photograph of something like the vacant building at the corner of Spring and Elizabeth streets that served as a spectacular showcase for graffiti artists and realize that in New York the mundane is pretty wonderful.

WDDP is a collective of young and talented people from different backgrounds, but having the same interest in capturing things. They do graphics, web, chatting, browsing, fixing broken mainboards, tees, exhibitions, canvases, walking around malls, babysitting, anything. But none of them do photos, even if they do, they actually don’t.

“We don´t do Photos” ist irgendwie eine schräge Mischung aus Schnappschüssen, verwakelten Nachtaufnahmen, Streetfotografie… eben eine bunte Zusammenstellung an Fotos, so unterschiedlich und vielfältig wie ihre Macher, und in ihrer Gesamtheit fast schon wieder Kunst.

Miss Anelia, die Flickr-Queen der Selbstportraits, hat mal wieder ein neues Foto hochgeladen. Da fragt man sich beim Hinsehen doch gleich, wie sie das gemacht hat. Die Lösung ist, wie man sieht, relativ einfach. Alles was man braucht ist eine starke helfende Hand, gute Photoshop-Skills und die Muse stundenlang ein Bild zu bearbeiten.
