Schöne Serie über die New Yorker U-Bahn. Anlässlich ihres 106. Geburtstages hat die New York Times mehrere Fotografen losgeschickt, wobei jeder auf seine eigene Art und Weise, die Fazination von New Yorks Transportmittel No.1 eingefangen hat.
The result is a portrait of workers, straphangers, rolling stock, architecture and neighborhoods in the four boroughs that the subway knits together; tough, elegant, exhilarating, draining and — sometimes — more than a little bit crazy. Sounds a lot like New York, doesn’t it?
